First Get Pre-qualified
To begin it's best to submit your basic financial information to Countrywide Home Loans. Upon review of your financial information, they will provide you a written pre-approval, called a commitment letter, for a certain mortgage amount. The down payment and interest rate will be subject to the terms of the commitment letter. A commitment letter is a commitment on the part of the lender to loan you a certain amount of money based on the lender's requirements and the property being purchased. It's a powerful tool and you can shop with confidence knowing how much you qualify for.
